Kane Brown has become an Internet celebrity who is currently following his dream of breaking into country music. Kane was raised by a single mother who moved their small family around Georgia before finally settling in Redbank, Tennessee. Despite having to overcome several hardships during his childhood, Kane always knew he wanted to pursue music. However, his love for country music snuck up on him when he was in high school.
In eleventh grade, Kane won a talent show during which he sang Chris Young’s “Gettin’ You Home” (also known as “The Little Black Dress Song”). It was at that moment he realized his passion for country music and recognized that it was the path he wanted to travel.
Following that life changing performance, Kane started posting cover videos of himself online, showcasing songs by Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson and other legendary artists, collecting more and more fans as his video catalog increased. Then came the fateful day when he posted a cover video ofLee Brice’s Number 1 hit song “I Don’t Dance” on his Facebook page. Kane’s take on the Brice, Dallas Davidson, and Rob Hatch song received over 60,000 shares, gaining him more than 160,000 page likes in only three months.
On October 21st, Kane released his first original single “Don’t Go City on Me,”reaching #11 on the iTunes country singles chart and #10 overall on Google Play. Fans can expect Kane Brown’s debut EP, featuring “Don’t Go City on Me,” to become available in January 2015.
